Welcome from on the road, getting ready to leave the snowy city of Detroit (UGH). Know why everyone else is going somewhere else, for sure. I am also working on a hexagon paper piecing right now with 3" hexagons. Your's look a bit smaller than that. Yes, it's quite an endeavor, but you should see the first quilt I did. We learn from experience, and seems to me you are doing a great job. If you love your choices and love what you are doing, that's 90% of the project. Post the pic when you finish it.

I live on the Gulf Coast in Alabama also. Today it's not quite as nippy as the last couple of nights but wait till next week....we're going into the teens at night.

Check into quilt guilds in the area. There's one in Gulf Shores, one in Mobile (meets next Tuesday) and one in Pensacola (not too far away).

And don't know if you know about A&E Pharmacy in Pensacola but they have a great quilt store/fabric store.

Vicky, I have a quilt that is this pattern that has been in my family for YEARS...have no idea how many, the top in places is so worn that the real cotton batting is showing thru and the binding is barely intact...it is my husband and boys favorite covering....the pattern is worth the work..it is on my TO QUILT LIST....enjoy. memepeggy

    Hi Ann,

Thank you for the compliment! I love your quilt. What is it called, guessing Cathedral Windows?

Peggy, I feel that this will be an heirloom quilt eventually owned by our daughter. Until then, it will grace our bed.

    Thanks for the warm welcome.

Am I understanding you correctly? A quilt/fabric store inside a pharmacy?
