My husband's family is from Norway. Hell and Bergen. I would love to go there! He has been while he was in the Army and his mom and sisters went on a vacations a few years ago with other family. It is a beautiful country by pictures I've seen and stories I've heard. Made even more beautiful by the quilting being done!!!

Eddie, thanks for the compliment! I made him another one a few years ago, which is getting a bit worn, been washed a few times. It was an interesting pattern, made in quarters. Each quarter was identical, just turned a different way. The plaid 9-patches are all from 'Friendship Blocks" made through members of one of my guilds. That way I got a nice mix of plaids. The pattern is from a magazine. Here's a pic.

Wow, that one is beautiful, too. Do you have a closeup pic of the fabrics? I have been collecting several bundles and yardages of plaids and wovens to make me another quilt someday. Just have to find the right pattern to do it with. Yours looks great.

I would be happy to send you the pattern. I used up most of the leftover fabrics for the back of the fishing quilt, but might have some left. I'll take a close-up pic or two. Mind you, it has faded from the washings, it is definitely a well used quilt, on our bed in colder months for the past few years.

That is the one thing I miss the most about living up in Washington State... the AWESOME quilt shop hop! I lived on Whidbey Island for a few years and my best friend and I had a great time doing the shop hop. I was so impressed with all the quilt stores up there. I bought my Janome 6500 from a quilt store up in Bellingham. I really loved that area of the country, but Colorado will always be my home... even if there aren't as many quilt stores down here!

Such a small world! Are you in any of the local guilds? I belong to Moonlight, Pieceables and Quilters by the River. There is also an Evergreen guild here.
