First off welcome to the forum from Corpus Christi, Texas. I only quilted a few things in the past and having had no real experience with a machine (just little here and there) my DH taught me more than anyone and one day I had the machine working and just did a couple blocks on the wonky side, then played/practiced some actual quilting (SITD). This board is an encyclopedia of quilting information from maintenance to repairs to patterns and tutorials. Everyone runs across a link to share (those you want to bookmark or add to your favorites). Sharing short cuts, so much and before you know it you will have a quilt made. Have fun because I know you will.

Welcome from norther NY state. There will always be someone around to try and answer any questions you have and a few minutes on the forum is bound to inspire younto want to create more :-)
