Hello all,a quilting newbie here !

Hello from southern Mississippi. This could be the start of something big. When I started in 2002, I had no idea how much fun and fabric I could stuff into my life, or the drawers, or the room, or the closet. You will understand those statements before very long.

There are never mistakes in a quilt.
I made one recently only to have it almost all quilted before seeing one square was headed in wrong direction. I left it there.
That makes it unique all the mistakes we think we make.
Beautiful work for a beginner.
This is a good site to learn from. Always someone or two or three ready to help you.

welcome from north florida. by your beautiful wall hanging you are a quick learner. Do other people in your family sew? they never let you in on how wonderful it is? ain't you a lucky dog now, lol! tell hubby don't look when you come in with fabrics and all comments will be relayed to the cook, lol! Strangelly enough, no, no one close to me anyway did sew. My mom did a lot needlepoint and yarn work, never sewing or quilting.
And my husband is loving my new hobby too, we just went to the store last week, and together spent couple hours picking out fabric for my new project. He is excited about building me a sewing table(when we buy our new house) and he said he wants to design blocks for me.
Life is good!

man, oh what a man, my man is!
that is fantabulous that hubby would spend time in fabric store with you and get involved like that! mine would break out in hives. He calls my sewing room, "The Cave", lol.
I do think he is proud of what I finish and I think he was surprised and maybe a little impressed with the way I re-organized my sewing room after he built me some shelves. I guess he comes as close to it all as he can. Last time he 'visited' me in there, he said," you in the woman cave?"
He doesn't know part of the reason i re-did so much was to make it more comfortable for him. He is a bit claustrophobic and i had too much stuff. I am actually on a roll again bc I must have felt that way too.
I had to come here to talk, 'quilt'. nobody around me does it and it is my passion, but I sew lots of other stuff too, so I won't be cranking out many pictures any time soon like others on here. I marvel at the stuff I see on here and it makes me feel so much more creative to see the variety. It inspires me. I think piecing is akin to construction of a building and we have guys on here. I think it is very manly. many don't know what they are missing out on. All fabrics don't have flowers anymore. C
