Hello from Canada

Hello folks, I am from Sault Ste. Marie, ON, married to a wonderful man for 32 years, we have 3 kids, 2 boys with a girl (the rose) in the middle, I am retired and enjoying it!
When I get together with my MIL, we sometimes quilt - or talk about quilting. I decided to try it on my own - and was hooked. I especially love making jean rag quilts - made one each for the kids and their significant others for Christmas this year. Each one is different, made to acknowledge a special something about the recipient. For example, our daughter - I named the quilt Kaliedoscope Rose - Kaliedoscope (twirly colours) - she is off in many different directions at once, and Rose - our rose between 2 thorns - how we describe her as being the middle of the two boys. I just started hand quilting and enjoy it - making mistakes, but learning - quilters do love to share their expertise!
Quilting is a continuing education process, which I am having fun doing.

thanks to all who have replied so quickly to my intro. I will enjoy participating on this board - my MIL was right - quilters are like "sisters"
Again, thank you for the warm welcome.
