Just HOW did I get landed with Presidency? It seemed to have sneaked up on me without me seeing it coming? What does everyone else think, do we allow those who are 'not telling' in? Great to have a Vice President on board tho, thank you mplsgirl for volunteering. You will, of course, have to take over when I am sick, on holiday, busy quilting etc. etc.

I am here representing way southern California. I am so glad to see all us granny types out there just quilting away. I like the idea of a club, makes us kinda unique here. I include myself because I'm almost 10 years past the 55 mark, grey and losing weight because of having 2 surgeries in 8 weeks, one on my stomach and esophagus. Otherwise I was fat. Can I join too, please, oh pretty please????

Starting to feel better, thank you. I have been on all liquids for almost 3 weeks now and will be for a while longer, lost 23# already. It did not stop me from quilting for long. That was all I wanted to do when I got home from the hospital. I had prepped several applique blocks before I had the surgeries so that I would have plenty to do when I was up to it. I am now on my last prepped piece so guess there is progress in my health. Never let anything get between you and your passion!!!

Welcome from Sunny Spain. I am originally from the UK, born in Scotland but lived most of my life in Kent. Your name made me smile, that was one of my Dadīs favourite sayings.

My DH and I have traved throughout Spain 2 times and he was stationed at Elizondo many years ago. The first time we stayed near Castello de la Plana and the last time we were near Benicarlo. We rented cars both times and travelled all over your wonderful country. I felt most at home there. I looked everywhere for fabric stores but could not find any. I guess you have to know where to look.

Of course you can join dlfo122quilting (Where did you get that name). I too hope you are feeling better, but I think that two surgeries are far too drastic a way to diet! Please eat something soon so that you don't become a shadow of your former self!

Anyway, since this is such a lovely forum/board, I don't think we can really exclude anybody, it wouldn't be fair, would it? What does everybody else think?
