Hello From England
#22
Hello Damkina,A warm welcome from Skipton North Yorkshire. There are many quilters in England, although the quilting shops are getting to be an endangered venue, more and more seem to be closing, probably because people shop on the web so much. There's nothing like going to shop and sighing over all the lovely fabrics however ! As a new qui;ter you are set on a wonderful journey of creating and making friends, maybe we will meet up one day, you will always be welcome here in Skipton. Happy sewing ,Letty

Hello Letty,
I totally agree, there's nothing like going into a shop to have that touchy-feelly time with the fabric before you take it home. Quilt shops are few and far between here too, so I make sure I buy enough to keep me going for a while when I do get to visit.
Thank you for your kind invite... we'll have to see what the new year brings.
I can't believe the amount of ideas for quilts that I keep getting, only problem is, I haven't got enough time in the day to do them all.

Welcome from Southern California. As a wife of a retired sailor and the mother of a sailor and a soldier, I think what you are doing making the quilts of valor is a wonderful thing. I have not made any of those yet, but I have made several of the Home of the Brave quilts, 4 of them went to family members of soldiers my daughter served with in Afghanistan.

Welcome from another newbie. We were in London for a week with a one day side trip to the Cotswolds in June for the best trip of my life. I tried to get to a quilt store, but, it would have taken some doing since there weren't any in the city itself.
