Welcome from NC. I have a quilt my Mother in law gave me that was made from her daddy's ties. The ties are put in a circle and had one fabric to fill in the background. They had the seam removed so they look really wide!

Greetings and welcome! If you go to the top of the page, click on search and look for tie quilts, there have been several discussions about this. I hope that is helpful.

    Hi Alice!

My suggestion would be to make a quilt with simple squares first...maybe a 9 patch? Nearly anything you'd do with your daddy's ties is going to be a more difficult task, and you might want to practice a bit with making points meet, keeping a quarter inch seam, etc.

    Welcome to the board!
