Hello from Florida
#1
Hello Everyone,
My name is Linda. I am new to this site but have been reading the blogs for a while. I've been quilting for about 2 years and I have made several quilts for the family and just recently gave two as gifts to a distant family member and a radio host. I've always had an interest in quilting, but never really acted upon it. Planned on making one for my bed with all my kids clothes (5 kids), but as anyone in Florida knows, storing clothes eventually dry rot and get tossed. Well, that happened to me so the idea of making a quilt seem to fade. Then my sister showed me the one she made and gave me a dvd that walked me thru making one. So I shopped for fabric with her and took the dvd home and made it in one weekend. When she asked me how the quilt was coming along, I told her I had finished it and she was amazed.....more like shocked since it took her forever to make the same one! It's been non-stop for me and now I am always thinking of the next quilt to make. I have 3 in progress right now. I am going to be making my best friend one and need some advice on what is the heaviest batting I could use. It needs to be a "warm" quilt because it's going up north. Any suggestions? I have one on my bed and the batting is thick. Just not sure what to use. Well, I will be posting quite often. My avatar is one of my quilts with many more to come. Take care and I will see everyone in the other blogs.
Happy Quilting

Hello and Welcome from Northern Indiana ! Glad you joined us
Love your quilt  Great Job
As for batting for us people up north... Warm and natural is a good one or some use regular flannel. If you use the flannel be sure and wash and dry it several times in hot water/high heat to get all the shrinkage out
