Hello Shikha and welcome from Northeast Alabama (Southern State in USA). I worked with several Indian doctors in the late 1970s in San Francisco, California, & one doctor invited us to his house for a family dinner. I was told the rice would be hot, but Oh My Goodness. I will PM you for good recommendations of medium spices as I enjoy rice.

By the way, can you show us some of your quilting. I want to buy some of the Princess Mirah batiks. My Husquvarna Viking Sewing/Embroidery Machine is at the dealer now, so looking for a good pattern.

Welcome Shikha from Connecticut in the part of the US also called New England. I hope you'll post picturess of your quilts. I still have some of the BEAUTIFUL solid color cotton fabric that I bought in Bombay years ago before it became Mumbai. I have never found the same quality and colors in the US. I fell in love with the food, too. I bought all of Julie Sahni's cookbooks. I would love to try some of your recipes. My husband's favorite is any kind of dal.
