Hello from Iowa!
Hi everyone!
I'm new here, but not new to the world of fiber arts. Started on embroidery when I was 4 and expanded from there, so now I do a little bit of pretty much anything, but quilting is one of the things that I like most.
Most of my projects these days are either wedding gifts (I make queen-sized quilts as wedding gifts for my closest friends) or baby blankets. But I've also got a throw blanket for my mom, a sample quilt for the class I'm teaching next month, an English paper piecing project.
I'm also slowly working on restoring an antique sewing machine (red-eye) that I received as a gift from my sister-in-law's family. A great aunt passed away and nobody was sure what to do with her craft stuff - my brother suggested that I might have some ideas, so they just gave it to me... along with about $200 worth of drop spindles, some of which were still brand new.
My dream project is a single, huge Mariner's Compass on a background of Storm at Sea. But who knows when I'll get around to it!
