I am from East Ky, a tiny little town called Pikeville. Its a long way from E-town! I have been there a time or two, though, great place.

I mutilated (that's really what it is, shudders)my toe by tripping on a step to the hot tub at the resort we were staying at on vacation. It was a loose step, made me slip and as I slipped it caught the edge of my toe and ripped the entire nail off, breaking the bone in the process. It's really painful.

As for the Cricut, I have the "big" one, its called the Expression. It cuts 12x24 inches, but you can get it to cut larger by some creativity, lol.

I bought it originally for scrapbooking, and I do use it a lot for both, so I've got my money's worth out of it. Its just so perfect. I can cut any font with it, any "dingbat" font FOR FREE. It can cut so many different materials. I cut a lot of vinyl for cars, and for wall words also. That machine is just too awesome! It can also "draw" the designs instead of cutting them.

I can use any clip art I find on the web for free, and cut out perfect sizes of it. I can cut as small as 1/8 inch(or smaller using the computer) or as big as two feet.I pick the images, load the fabric, go throw in some laundry(or whatever) come back and have 30 perfect hearts! (or stars, or squares, or circles, or intricate, detailed people! ANYTHING!

Sharon B, I could save the pic of your avatar, the little grasshopper and cut it out exactly as you see it. If I can see it on my computer screen, I can cut it!

I don't use anything special, thin fabrics will need some stabilizer ironed on the back sometimes, but I usually use that anyway with appliques.

Welcome and waving from Ohio. I have relatives that live over the hill in Stone,Ky. Been to Pikeville many times. Know any Pollis's????????????

Thanks, everyone, for all the welcomes!

Luv-e, my Daddy is from Stone. One of his best friends' was a Pollis. I can't remember his name right off, but I remember he had 3 daughters.

Small world, huh? I'm always surprised when anyone knows anything about Pikeville, LOL! Its such a small place.

Can you do the quilt /Wall hanging for you Hubby with cut outs ? I saw you were looking for suggestions
That's what I'm doing. I think I've got it pretty much 'planned" out. I'm just not sure of some of the "technical" parts. How I 'm going to quilt it, etc.

I love starting a new project! When I get some of the appliques cut, I'll post some pics.
