Hi! Another Ky. girl, here, too. I'm in Pikeville, in Eastern Ky. I'm a new quilter, also, but I have to say, my quilts do not look anywhere near as good as yours!

I LOVE that blue. Thats my new favorite color is the "aquas". Especially with browns.

I'm going to be doing the Farmers Wife Sampler quilt with the group on this board in those colors. You should join us. It's a great way to learn new skills as there are 111 different blocks in it. You work at your own pace, but our group goal is a couple of blocks a week. It has a really interesting story behind it, too. The thread is here, if you want to check it out:

Either way, welcome to the board! This is THE place to learn, the people here are so great about helping with whatever you need.I've learned a ton in my short time here.

Thank you ladies for your responses!! I am actually in Louisville, KY. And, {I am thrilled to receive the many compliments on this quilt. It was for a very special friend of mine that has advised me over the years. Being that I am new to the hobby, there are some very uncertain moments. I was cutting and sewing the pieces together, and just got a brainstorm, wondering what the block would look like if I manipulated it a certain way. Well, there it is above. Thanks again, and looking forward to speaking with you all soon!! ;0)

Another welcome from Northern KY. Love your quilt. If you're a beginner you certainly must have inherited a quilt gene from somebody!

Welcome to the board. Love your quilt, really like the edges, zig-zag instead of straight.
