Hello from upstate New York. I love to quilt. Love applique, but am working on a patchwork Apple Blossoms at the present. Just came across this quilting board today and think it is wonderful. I grew up in Lousiana (a wonderful place) and have many happy memories between DeRidder and Sugartown, LA I met my husband in DeRidder at a corner soda fountain. Is anyone famaliar with the larger thread quilting. Like crochet cotton? Can't find any info in my books or magazines. So long for now----------wolle2

It is truely a small world :!: I know exactly the area you are talking about :!: Myhusband's sister still lives in Houma and when I go to see my mom, my sister and I hit the quilt shops in Houma, since there isn't one in Thibodaux. Good talking to you :!:

Hello to all the new folks, from North Carolina coast, I'm 2 hours from Raleigh-2hours from Myrtle Beach, SC, and smack dab on the beach. I loved the beach so much when my kids were little and I was young...now I'm to old to sunbathe, but I do love it. The roar of the ocean, the crash of the waves, and the bluest blue skies!!
I have been to Louisiana when my son was stationed there with the Army. I've been through all the places mentioned so far. That's so cool to know where you're talking about.
I lived in Kittery, Maine for three years, too, then Green Bay, Wis. for three years, then here to NC where I stopped to smell the sea and never left. lol lol
Hope to get to know all of you better!!
