Hello from Michigan!
Hello all!
I was having problems with my long arm and made my way here. I figured out my problem, but thought I'd stay and check to see what others are up to!
I've been sewing since I was little, but I've only been quilting for 11 years or so. All my sewing and quilting is by machine except for the binding. My fingers can barely hold up during the binding - I can't imagine doing much more hand sewing though I think it's beautiful!
I have a Husqvarna Mega Quilter 18x8 on an Inspira frame with qbot - and I LOVE it!! I've been toying with upgrading my qbot to the tablet based control but haven't talked myself into the investment yet.
I love the creative process of the piecing and I'm trying to get more experienced at the quilting (though I'm much slower on that part). I've also run out of people to smother with my quilts so I have a growing collection in the house :-)
About me... I am married - no kids - but I'm a fabulous aunt! I travel for work (computer stuff) so my weekends are typically my quilting time. I've done other crafts but quilting is what has stuck the longest but I enjoy creating new things. My husband is an artist and is a great help when stretching my comfort zone with fabric choices. I tend to make more contemporary quilts but I've made my fair share of traditional (or traditional with a twist) quilts.
Looking forward to joining in on the fun!
