Hello from Minnesota
Hi All, I confess, I am not a quilter. However, my mother, who recently passed away, was. So I have come to this forum to get some input from quilters, like my mom. We want to incorporate her love of quilting into her memorial services and my first thought is that I would like the memorial brochures/pamphlets to have a picture of a beautiful quilt block on the front. Not a photo, but like a graphic image of a quilt block. I hope that makes sense. My question for anyone here is - what block pattern would you choose if you were designing something like this. I don't recall that Mom had a favorite and so many of her creations are with other people. I'm just wondering if a certain pattern has a meaning that would be fitting in this situation?
I hope this isn't too goofy a question, we are just hoping to honor my mother and the art form that she loved so very much.
Thank you!

So sorry for the loss of your mother. It was hard for my sister and I when our mother passed.
What was her first name? There are several blocks, like the Rose of Sharon, that would be pretty. For my family it would be the Lancaster Rose based on our last name. You can research that way. Or if she has a favorite flower, there are quite a few floral blocks.

So sorry for the loss of your dear mother. I know this is a sad time for you & your family. I found this block called Heavenly Stars that is pretty & might fit in well with the brochures/pamphlet for her memorial service.

Also, I saw this article that I thought was very moving & showed the love of her quilting & the love that all her family felt toward her.

Hugs & prayers for you and your family during this time of grief.

Welcome from OHIO! I am so sorry for your loss. At my mother's funeral visitation we had a couple of her favorite quilts displayed on easels (most funeral homes have them) and then at her service, we had her "Tree of Life" quilt draped over her casket. Maybe you could take a picture of one of her quilts and use that as your graphic for her memorial pamphlet.
