    I found an easy pattern at Wal-Mart in their fatquarter, craft area... They have sample patterns one was a dog/cat bed..

    Welcome -- I too would select an older machine for the really heavy duty work. One that I have that folks don't mention is the Elna Supra -- mine has even sewn through cardboard mending DD's book bag. I got the machine new in 1972 so it does qualify as a vintage machine, but it is a real work horse.

    WELCOME FROM MANITOBA CANADA quilting is my therapy, recognized in my close circle of owning an extensive unique closet of designer clothing to wear.. Never dull moment hear.. Hope your sewing/quilting fulfills as much as I found it to be..
