Welcome from St. Louis!
I am cutting patches from a gift stash to make a D9P, to use up some of the fabric that does not speak to me either. This will be my first D9P and I plan to tie it together with a common center patch for all the blocks. I really am not fond of the cutting part of quilt making! :?

Can I ask what a D9P is? Something tells me that I should know what that means, but it's not coming to me...

It's a Disappearing 9 patch. I have never made one, but basically you make a nine patch of approx 4 to 5 1/2 in squares and then cut it in half both directions and but back together. There is a tutorial on here somewhere that says how to do it. A lot of folks here love to make them and there are lots of pictures of what they have made

Thanks for explaining it! It sounds like a neat thing to do, I'll have to check it out.

Welcome from NE CA. Glad you joined us. If you're trying to use scraps for your quilts, try quiltville.com. Bonnie has lots of scrappy ideas. She's the best for scrappy, my own personal opinion.

Welcome from SW Iowa. Don't weed out your stash. Just make quilts out of it. And show us pictures. We love pictures.
