Hello
My name is Shirley and I am a quilt addict.
I started quilting later in life, about 1992 at the age of 45, after having surgery on both hands. Needed something for physical therapy, to get everything working again, and knitting wasn't getting it.
Didn't take long to be completely hooked, building one quilt after another, and even (gasp) taking them to the quilt show at the local fair. LOTS of people here do that, so imagine my surprise when my first entry brings home a nice red ribbon!
I will machine piece or hand piece, depending on the pattern or my mood, but I ALWAYS hand quilt. It's the part that soothes me the most.
When I need to get away from the quilting for a while, I have my 3 Arabians to play with (down from a MUCH larger breeding herd), ride, and sometimes show THEM too.
