Welcome from Washington State. I am of German descent and would love to hear about your customs and traditions. When my ancestors came over, they didn't talk about the old country, so I only have a few things that I have to tie me to my heritage.

Ich bin in Deutschland geboren und aufgewachsen. Nun lebe ich hier in Amerika schon seit 16 Jahren.

Es ist schoen nach all der langen Zeit, jemanden von zu Hause gefunden zu haben. Solltest du fragen haben, helfe gerne, wenn moeglich aus.

Wenn es dir recht ist, lege mich als deinen "Buddy" an, so finden wir uns schneller. Andernfalls kann man etwas verloren gehen.

To all of you who doesn't understand german. I'm telling her that I was born and raised in germany too. Live here in America now for sixteen years.

I'm also telling her how nice it is to hear from somebody at home.
