Thanx for the heads up. Danielle knows how to find Cottage, and I've not been to the one in Manteca, Maybe they are closing out, and I can get some good buys. Will check before we go. Thanx again

You gals are bring back so many memories. I left the hills in 1946 moved to Manteca, Daddy worked at Sharps Depot as a fireman <I went to school there for 5 years, ran away from home and marrried in 1950, Two of my children were born at French Camp, The town has changed so much, and has grown huge, We had only a red light at the four way stop in the middle of Manteca, :-P

Isn't it amazing how any area can grow so fast., Here we are all basically neighbors, and have never met. We'll have to have a get together somewhere in the middle

    Welcome from So.California.

Note to Campbell...your applique quilt is gorgeous, and the quilting too. Love the pattern and colors you chose.

All I did was applique and embroider it, I did not pick the colors, A neighbor in Woodscross Utah gave me the kit with no directions,so I put it together a little at a time as my former husband was having cancer treatments in the hospital, then I got the directions as to the embroidery part just before my neighbor passed away,It sat for several more years as my husband suffered from more cancer, he died in early 2003, Then later on I married again,I finally quilted it and I entered the quilt in the Mohave Co fair, won first place, would have won best of show but the quilting lines would not come out so it has little blue dots on it , And in November I took second in Peoples choice in our local quilt show

Hi Shelly, I live in the Santa Clarita area, Castaic. I come to Ventura all the time, taking the 126 to Ventura, is easier than go to LA. I also shop at Candy's Quiltworks in Northridge, not far from Simi at all.

I'm not surprised you took 1st Place. It really is a beautiful (one of a kind) quilt, and I think you did a great job. I'm envious of your talent and patience.
