Hi Everyone

Welcome to the board, Lisa.
I am going to make a giant assumption here and figure you are in Fayetteville. (My husband is retired Arny and I have had many friends stationed there) How long have you been there? Have you thought about joining a guild? I know that there are two there, one off post and one on post. One of my dearest friends in the world JUST moved away from there and she is a quilter-I would have loved to have you two meet!! I also know of two great long arm quilters there I could let you know about. There are also several really nice quilt shops in your area, so you should have a lot of fun fabric shopping too!!

Hi and a big welcome from New York State! I look forward to seeing pictures of your quilts, whether completed or works in progress. I hope you are enjoying your new location. It must be quite different from Hawaii.
A big "thank you" to your husband for the job he is doing!!!

I did start one thread in the Pictures area and posted what felt like a LOT of photos there, but I'm happy to post more! More more more! :D
Marcia... Ohhhh yeah, we're in Fayetteville! I haven't heard anything about the 2 quilt guilds you mentioned! On post is even better! I did find a Fayetteville Quilters/Sewers Meet-Up Group that meets every other Sunday at Hancock Fabrics for the 5 hours that the store is open!! I was Googling "Fayetteville long arm quilters" and found that group instead! LOL I've attended one of their meet-ups, and tomorrow will be my second.
We moved into our base housing on August 8th! So I'm super new here.
Do the long arm quilters in F'ville have websites so I can see their prices and designs? Their info would be great, too, so I wouldn't have to wait as long, maybe, for my quilts to come home! Save on shipping. Wheee!
Thank you!!

Hi Brazen:
Welcome! I just checked out your pictures and your quilts are gorgeous. For a new quilter, it sure seems like you're getting the hang of things. Your work looks flawless. Thanks for sharing and NO! you can NEVER post too many pictures! The pictures motivate me to try patterns I see others have made.
Thank your husband for his service to our country. We sure appreciate him and we appreciate the families of our soldiers who must endure separations, worry and sacrifices (I don't think living on the Islands would be much of a sacrifice for me, but I have been a military wife, so I know there are hardships caused by separations and duty). Thank you all!
