I am in Salisbury, NC. Not sure where Grays Chapel is but will look it up. You said you already sew, therefore quilting may not be very difficult to learn on your own. That is what I did and found it easy to follow directions for patterns I found in magazines, online and in books. Since I am cheap and impatient, taking a class was not for me. You may find it helpful though. Nice to hear from someone in NC.
