As someone that loves old machines and the fine craftsmanship that they exhibit, I would love to see your collection. Welcome to the quilting board.

Hello! Welcome from Northern CA, S.F. Bay area.
I too just used treadles to sew with after discovering the wonderful world of vintage machines this past summer. Looking forward to reading more of your posts and learning from you.

    OH, WOW!!

I JUST found all these wonderful welcomes. I am in awe of all the friendly people here, and to see that you all pretty much cover the globe, too!

For those who are interested in drooling over my new sewing room, here ya go!: http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/...03630418mHBoLQ

Of course I've moved the machines around AGAIN, but you get the 'jest of it'. When I was planning the room, I knew that it would be filled with old machines, so I picked the old lantern-style lights. Hubby gave me a wonderful closet to hide all my stuff, too, as well as storage under the window seat for batting, etc. Yep, I AM a blessed gal. :)

As for my machines.... you can wander through some of the pictures here: http://community.webshots.com/user/IamfoundinHim

I did a strip & repaint on my hand crank (I chose a really cool blue/purple color), and did step-by-step instructions listed on there, too.

Well, thank you all so very much for making me feel so welcome.
