Both...I make and quilt for the public. I also do charity work for Quilts of Valor, and a raffle quilt for the schools, etc...if they ask.
I do a lot of photo & t-shirt quilts.
I have a couple of regular quilt customers...they send on a fairly regular basis..and it pays for my supplies, etc.
I'm blessed in the fact I don't HAVE to work, and all I do is extra money... so it goes for dentist, doctor visits if needed...or if our kids/grands need something paid...we have my little account to share with them.
I don't charge a lot, about average I guess. My basic fee is .015 (1-1/2 cents per square inch)... but that varies depending on what is wanted on the quilt. A queen quilt that measures 90 x 90 inches runs 121.50 plus batting. I have poly batting for a queen at 12.00, Warm and White 80/20 cotton at 24.00 (http://www.hancocks-paducah.com/Item--i-2341), and Wool at 35.00 (http://www.hancocks-paducah.com/Item--i-WL-90). I keep batting in stock at retail price...saves customers on shipping.
Wool batting is sooo fluffy...and warm in winter, cooler in summer. I have it in one quilt of mine...kind of expensive for everyday for me...but in special quilts...I use it.

I'm Marge Campbell & currently live in Littlefield, TX (36 miles North of Lubbock).
We moved here in Jan 2006, due to hubbys health. Really liking the move, miss our kids & grands though.
I like to quilt, from start to finish (I have a longarm quilting machine)...embroidery (both hand and machine)...play bingo & online poker (the free ones).
We have some cows, ducks, geese, chickens, cats and dogs....and some wild bunnies.
My longarm quilter is equiped with a Qbot quilting robot...nice addition...call Lizzie my poor gals Statler Stitcher (result is the same, just a lot less money).
