Hi, everyone! I just joined this great site. I've been quilting for about 17 years! I am self-taught so this is the perfect site for me. I sew my fabric together by machine, and then I hand quilt everything. I went out on disability at a pretty young age, and now have severe back problems, but it has turned out to be a blessing in disguise because I can quilt all I want to now and meet other quilters, too! And hand quilting doesn't require constant standing. I almost bought a long arm before my back went out, I'm so glad I didn't because I wouldn'g be able to use it now anyway! Could any of you suggest a low-cost, good-quality digital camera? I would love to send pictures and paste a picture of my Red Heeler(her name is Gillie) on my blog. I love all the pictures that you have on your blogs of your quilts and your kids and pets! I have been using this site for tips and to meet quilters. None of my friends quilt, so they don't understand all the work of pattern selection, getting the colors right, and the expense of good batting and the time consuming hand quilting!! They all want me to just whip up a quilt for them, and I would but it takes a good 3-4 months with hand-quilting!!
