I am new to this forum. I enjoy quilting but mainly the by hand variety. I take various family members to Drs. appts so I hand piece while I wait. Am hoping that I can get some great quilting tips and ideas from this site. Looking forward to getting some quilting friends.

Glad to be welcomed from both ends of the spectrum. Texas and Canada. Warm and cold areas.
My picture is the layout of the quilt I am working on for my 5 year old niece. Finished one for her 2 year old sister last year. The finished one was of all vintage kid prints, this one is inner circle is vintage kid prints and then an outer border of a print that goes with the inner print.
I am always on the lookout for vintage kid prints. (or replicas)

I have tried to make quilt blocks and have them look good but I am off on how the finished product would look. Never happy with the blocks. So that is the main reason I do hand. I feel it is more control.
Would love to be able to use the machine for blocks just not happy with them.

Welcome from St.Louis. I remember getting lost while deer hunting (I was supposed to be flushing out the deer - I didn't have a gun or license) up near Brantwood inPrice County a lifetime ago! My one and only time deer hunting! It is beautiful there, but I really enjoy the weather here better.

Thanks for the welcome from MO. I have a BIL that lives in Columbia, MO. Haven't ever been there but he says it is nice.
As for deer hunting....I don't. The closest I have come is when the hunters shot at the deer in our yard and the bullets embedded in our deck. Too close for comfort. We don't go outside during the season, people aren't very careful. So we must be.
We have very beautiful and very distinct seasons here. Right now we have snowbanks that are edging up to 10 feet. And it is perfect snowmobiling. We are right on Lake Superior/the Apostle Islands. God's country for sure.
