A warm welcome from Southern California. The first thing to do is try to sew an constant seam allowance close to a 1/4". Accurate seam will come with practice. I agree with Tartan, start out making a block into a pot holder. My first quilt was king size quilt and that was a BIG mistake. I hope you find as much inspiration as I do from this site.

Hey everyone. My name is Ciara & I am just starting out making quilts. I haven't actually made one yet I'm trying to get as many tips and learn as much as I can before I start so I can do a decent job. So if anyone has any tips or tricks, if you can help out with some of the terminology or anything at all please let me know! Thanks!
