Hi from Wisconsin!
Hi, my name is Kelli and I’ve been quilting since the early 90’s. However I took about a 17 year break when my son was born. Space and time to in the way of quilting. When he graduated from high school and joined the Navy I decided to jump back in. That was almost 4 years ago now, time sure flies. Quilting got me through boot camp and many months at sea. He’s our only child so it’s been a big adjustment. We couldn’t be prouder of him and his decision to serve.
I look forward to learning new techniques from you!

My son is stationed in San Diego! His ship has been in dry dock for over a year. He’s been temporarily assigned to a destroyer in Hawaii for a couple of weeks. He’s currently at sea and is happy. Says it’s the best sleep he’s had in months.

Hello Squidmom, waving from the Seattle area.
Welcome back to the world of quilting, although I was still sewing I've been absent from the on-line quilting community for about the same length of time as you -- married my hubby and spent more time with him than on message boards.
Things have sure changed a lot, new techniques and styles all the time so I'm still learning all the time!

Welcome from Texas. I think you are going to like this Quilting Board. There are so many helpful quilters her with lots of experience & knowledge that can help if you run across a problem. We love pictures & would like to see what you are making.

Welcome to the QB from SE Michigan. Thank your son from all of us for his service! I can only imagine what you might be feeling with your only son so far away. Fortunately he is doing an important job. Quilting will continue to get you through the many days of concern and hopefully be a lot of fun and and enjoyable art for you. I can't wait to see some of your quilting projects! Just jump right in and join the fun. There are any number of us (me included) who took some time off because life got in the way of this great pleasure. Welcome again to the QB. Now have some fun.

Welcome from neighboring Minnesota! I grew up in Wisconsin, Fort Atkinson to be exact. I think you will enjoy yourself here. There's lots of good people here with an abundance of information and a willingness to share. Good wishes to your son.
