Welcome from about 40 miles north of Pittsburgh. I have EQ7 but wouldn't be much help; I haven't gotten beyond printing block patterns. If you enter EQ7 in the search box at the top of the page there is a series of threads created by Rhonda that teaches you the ins & outs, very helpful.

Welcome from Louisiana. I have EQ7 and love it. I used Rhonda's EQ lessons to get going, then I bought the additional "EQ With Me" Pieced Drawing and Quilt Design, books. I used them as additional lessons. Some people can do it with their online lessons. It takes me a little longer and I needed hard copy, not a video. Can't make notes on those. http://electricquilt.com/online-shop/category/books/ They are frequently offered on sale.
I, also, participate every month in the DoYouEQ Challenge. It forces me to really try to learn EQ7. http://doyoueq.com/clubeq/ For the November Challenge, mine is the table runner with Palm Trees and Stilt Houses titled "Snow on the Gulf Coast". I do not claim to be an expert, but I know a lot of the basics.
Welcome to the board.
