Hi everyone. I am very new to the art of quilting (have just made my first quilt) and I am having a horrible time trying to decide how to quilt the top of it. So if anyone can give me any suggestions, please do. My name is Linda and I live in Douglasville, GA, with my hubby. All my children are grown and married. One daughter and granddaughter live near us and the other daughter lives wayyyy out in California so I hardly ever see my three grandsons.
Here is a picture of my quilt top. You can see the squares are staggered. I was going to stitch in the ditch to quilt it; however, I do not know what to do going across the quilt. I was going to just do a square and then skip the next square and do the next; however, the back of my quilt is a plain color and I do not think it is going to look right on the back if I do that. Does anyone have any suggestions of how I could quilt it? I've been trying free-motion meandering but don't feel I'm good enough to do it right now.
Well, anyway, hello to everyone and I'm looking forward to learning lots on here.
