Welcome aboard. I think it sounds like a fine tradition, I don't come from a family of quilters myself, didn't grow up with them or with memories of them but I decided it was something I wanted to do when I was a senior in high school. It's been my hobby all this time and my sewing machine was always a treasured possession.

The Bernina 801 Sport is a marvellous machine. It is the little sister to the 830 Record. I have had one for over 30 years and it has never let me down. If you can find one for one of your daughters, do so.
