Howdy from Texas
Hi from Texas!
I am a beginner and actually just finished my very first quilt tonight! It's very satisfying to see the work pay off!
I actually had no plans to begin quilting/sewing- after my dog passed away suddenly, I was in the craft store (I was making a picture frame for her to bring back with me to my college apartment) and saw a package of fabric quarters I liked and decided to make a quilt with it...my grief gave me a creative spark and its been helping me cope with her passing. But I didn't realize I would like it so much and that I think I've found my new hobby! I already have plans for a second one that I intend to give to my grandmother. I'm in too far now to just stop
Sorry for the rambling- I am happy to be here!

This is my first quilt before I washed it- nothing fancy & the binding is a little weird because my walking foot fell apart when I had 2 sides left to finish, but I'm proud of it!

Sunstar, welcome to the wonderful world of quilting! I'm sorry about your beloved dog's passing. Quilting is therapy for many. You'll always remember your furry friend...even when you're older, for more than just his/her life, but for placing you in just the right place to show you how you can fill the void. Congratulations and so sorry just the same.
