A Hoosier is just someone from Indiana, USA. No one really knows how our state got that nickname. Some believe that it's from the pioneer days when the state was first founded and when someone knocked on your door and the people inside asked "Who's there?" and it got it got shortened over the years to Hoosier. Don't know if it's true or not and no one will ever know. We're all just Hoosiers.

My daughter is a "hoosier" by birth but she claims she is a Texan since she only lived there a year and 1/2. LOL
