Welcome from NJ. I don't have the Sapphire but my friend does. To the best of my knowledge she's not tried any machine quilting on it but also does not have any tension issues. I have a slightly older HV Platinum machine and have never had to adjust the tension for any reason - (straight line) machine quilting; sewing sheer curtains; draperies, etc. It has built in auto tension. AFAIK, the Sapphire does as well.
Good luck!

I go with what Geri B said, but try it first. Other people may have trouble but you might not. I really just wanted to say welcome to the Board and enjoy your new machine ( although the 15-91 is good too!) The best machine is the one you use!!
