Hi. I'm Patty - from TEXAS. (San Antonio).

I am so happy to find this site today.

This September I am going to a 3-Day Quilt Retreat and I am in charge of coming up with some quilt-related games to play while we are taking a break from sewing, sewing, sewing.

I was wondering if any of you quilters would know of any games that we could play while we are 'resting' from sewing?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. HELP!!!!!

Welcome from Southern California. I don't remember the name of the game but there is a new game out there just for quilters. It is a board type game that asks lots of questions and you move through quilt shops and stuff. If I come up with the name, I will let you know.

Try www.guiltguilds.com/games.htm for some game suggestions. I like the "strip" poker, play poker and use fabric strips as your bets. I'm still trying to come up with the name of the game. I think it was "Sew you want to Quilt" but maybe not.

Also try www.sewyouwanttobeaquilter.com for the game I was thinking about. I'm at work and can't get on that website for some reason.

There's "Quilt-O", which is like BINGO, but with quilting/sewing terms instead of numbers.
We also play Strip Poker, with 3" strips, cards & dice. I'll email my quilt teacher & see if she has the instructions written down. (It's one of those games that is fun & easy to play, but a bit hard to explain!)
At my last Guild meeting, we did that old game from "Let's Make A Deal" - "What's in your purse?". Make a list of things, then read them off, one by one - "Does anyone have an expired coupon in their purse?", etc. First one to hold the item up won a fat quarter! We also played the same game on a bus trip to the Long Beach International Quilt Festival, but the prizes were all different - I won a pair of small scissors. :D Depends on your budget I guess.

Hi from Mass.We also played the purse game. We also played a sawp game where each brought in a yard of fabric in a papper bag formed a line and some one told a story that had rights and lefts in it and every time the word right was said the bags were past to the right and if left was said it was past to the left. A lot of fun.
