Welcome from Nevada! But I just moved here from Wisconsin, so I know all about Wisconsin weather. (Am still wondering why I brought all these parkas with me.) You are a true artist, and you can see that it your work. It's awesomely beautiful. The recipients of your work are lucky indeed. And it's so lovely you are teaching your grandchildren to sew. I learned from my Mother, and in turn, have taught several nieces and even a nephew! Teaching the young is such a delight. Best of luck to you, and I'm really looking forward to seeing more of your beautiful work, and benefitting from your wisdom, talent and experience on the Quilting Board. Thanks so much for joining us!

Originally, I grew up in Northern Lower Michigan, but moved out East (Boston) when I graduated from Nursing School. I moved to New Glarus, WI, when I married my husband, because he was from Monroe, and wanted to stay in the area because of business contacts. I worked at UW Hospital in Madison for 14 years. I've long been a Nurse Practitioner now. My husband is a Motivational Speaker, so he could live almost anywhere. Then I took a job in La Crosse, at Gundersen Lutheran, and we moved up there, right next to the Mississippi. That's when my husband switched careers, and he is now the Director of Corporate Communications for Golden Phoenix. He did that for a while from La Crosse, but the company wanted him to open a new office closer to where some of its properties were located. Our choices were: Ontario, Canada; Peru; or Las Vegas, Nevada. Not wanting to leave the country (and my family), and loving the thought of warmer winters, we settled in a suburb of Las Vegas, and I'm so glad we did. I love it here. Oh, and by the way, after 39 years of full time employment, some of it spent while getting my Master's too, I have retired. Yeah! My friends worried I'd be bored because I was such a workaholic. I'm so busy I can't imagine how I ever found time to work! A lot of that has to do with my new love of quilting. But I do miss the change of seasons in Wisconsin. It sure was pretty there. Reminded me of my home state of Michigan a lot. Anyway, here's another welcome aboard!
