    Hi All,

I was delighted to come accross this site. There seems to be an abundance of experienced quilters here.

I am a new long arm quilter and I have bought a machine to bring home to Ireland with me in April.

I have been trying to set up a good fabric supplier while I am here but it is proving difficult. I know to set up a wholesale account you need a FEN number but I'm not sure what I need to give to get set up wholesale from Ireland.

Do any international quilters have any advice for me?

I am trying to learn as much about quilting while I am here because when I go home I am on my own! I love the quilting community you have out here and would love to see it in Ireland.

Well we have a quilting community, but we do struggle for supplies. We have one long arm supplier here that I know of(Gammil) who is based in County Cork, but where you would get wholesale supplies I haven't a clue - perhaps the best idea would be to contact the makers of what you want, and ask them if they have dealers here.

As a group of quilters based in Sligo, we often order fabric from the US and even with shipping and customs duty when charged, we can get fabric for just over half of what our LQS charges.

    Hello Grace173!
    Welcome from Minnesota!
You better stock up while you're in the States!
Or maybe you should open a shop in Ireland!!!
