just joined board

Hi,
I just joined this board enjoying the post and pictures, I have quilted for over 3 years but for a year have slowed down and I am trying to get back to it My daughter at the age of 34 died she quilting and was my best friend it has been hard, she has 2 girls but they dont want to sew yet...I got her machine and material and some she had cut out...it is hard to start any yet but want to for the granddaughters..this site is inspiring me...thanks

Welcome from Ontario, Canada. So sorry for your lose. It will be hard to finish her work but it will be a comfort to her girls to have something from their mother and you.

Welcome from Central California. Be patient with yourself; you will quilt when the time is right. It is very hard to loose a child and healing comes slow.

Welcome to the board. So sorry for your loss. I can't imagine losing a child. So, for now hang out with us here while you begin to heal and the mood will come to return to quilting. I hope your grandkids will someday pick up her pieces and begin their own legacy. How about showing us some things you or she quilted?

Welcome from South Louisiana. I haven't lost a child, but I lost both my sisters. Once there was 3 and now there's just me. My heart goes out to you. If you start on some of her sewing, you might feel like she is standing there with you. I know that when you can start on it, she will be happy.
