Hi,
I'm Debbie J. from Hartselle, AL (well, in the process of moving back there from WI). I just started learning to quilt. My stash grew just because I machine embroider, and all my clothes were decorated by now, so I needed to put all my embroidery on "something"! Now I need to do something with all my embroidered pieces, and I've always wanted to quilt, so that will be just great! I've made a lap quilt, and a twin-sized quilt for a great-niece. I think I like the quilt-as-you-go method best. I'm on a yahoo group where we're doing a snowman window-pane lap quilt, and that's how I'm finishing that one. I know that I need a lot of practice, and my seam ripper is getting used quite a bit!
My hubby is also a Vietnam vet. These veterans are so under-appreciated.
More later, and hopefully I can add some pics when I have time. I hope to learn lots from all of you.

Below are 2 pictures of my first 2 projects. The 1st one is of the quilt for my great-niece with a pillowcase I made and the back of the quilt showing. I cheated and used printed flannel for the top of the quilt, and I didn't use any batting because she stays so warm all the time. The second one is of the log-cabin lap quilt I made just to see if I could do it. My hubby said he's keeping that one!
Yesterday I tried to do a card trick block, but I don't like how it turned out. Maybe today I can do another one I'll like better.
