    Default Looking for opinions :)

    Hello, Quilters!

A bit about myself - I live on an acreage in rural Saskatchewan, Canada, with a petting zoo worth of assorted critters, my husband, and my son. My main hobbies are photography, crafting, reading, canning, and gardening.

I am not a quilter, myself, but I am looking for quilters' opinions. I like to draw and craft, and have done up some fabric designs that I am thinking of trying to sell. My mom is a quilter, and she says she loves them, but...she's my mom. She has to love my stuff

Anyhow, before I get too invested in the whole idea, I thought I'd try running it by some quilters who can give me an unbiased opinion. Is there an appropriate area of the forum for posting stuff like that?

    Thanks so much!

I would just post pictures of it in the pictures section and ask for opinions

The rules of this site say you need a certain number of posts before selling anything. If you are talking about designing fabric, I would think you would have to contact a fabric manufacturer?

I am designing fabric - I don't know nearly enough about quilting to try to do quilt patterns!

I am not selling anything. Maybe someday, but not right now. I am just looking for an opinion on designs, to see if what I would like to do would have any appeal to quilters.

Welcome to the board. I grew up on a farm, so I identify with that part of your life. Mine also included gardening and canning. My mom was not a crafter - hated sewing - but I enjoyed sewing long ago and have gotten into quilting in the past several years. This is probably something I inherited from my grandmothers. I have no idea about fabric designs and how to sell them!

This is the sort of thing I have in mind. This is what a fat quarter of this pattern would tentatively look like.

All she is asking for is opinions, she isn't selling anything.

I think the design is cute, though I probably wouldn't purchase it-not so much a bird house fan.
