Welcome from Minnesota.
Up until now, I have hand embroidered my labels. I picked up a pkg of labels for my printer to try that route. My machine doesn't do embroidery. :( I am working with an old Elna workhorse. My gf has her sister do hers for her. So...you have options and choices. Whatever works best for you.

Greetings from Sacramento, CA.
I just bought a little booklet at my LQS that has samples of quilt labels one can trace onto fabric (muslin works well) with Pigma pen and color in with fabric markers (NOT Sharpie). Once done, you need to set the colors with a hot iron.
