Hello All,
I stumbled across this board the other day and love it!
I am new to quilting. We are expecting #2 any day now and I have been making a quilt for the first time. My daughter inherited my baby quilt and I wanted baby #2 to have a quilt too. I have been on bed rest, so I got a lot of time to work on it. I am sewing it by hand, I think I have realized that a machine would be much faster, but I like the satisfaction of doing things the "long" way! At this point, I still have to finish the border, but other than that, I have everything else laid out or done, so as soon as my border is finished, I should be ready to move in super speed and finish it. I am very excited about it. I know it's not perfect but considering my lack of sewing skills, I am very pleased.
Thank you all for being here. I am pretty sure I will be posting tons of questions in the future!
Have a great weekend!

Welcome! And how clever of you to use your bed rest to accomplish something! This board is really fun and will help you to while away some time, too.
I have never hand pieced a quilt, but have hand quilted a few and it makes them so special. You are pouring a lot of love into the quilt with your stitches!

Hello, and welcome from Missouri! You will have a treasure when it is finished. Will you be hand quiltng it, or tying, or?
Ask away, there a lot of people here with many years of experience!

Greetings from Northern California. Never had any children, but I don't think a sewing machine is the best thing for a pregnant belly on bed rest.
Hope all goes well with your little one and enjoy your hand stitching.
