I'm a 66 year old mother and grandmother. I have sewed since I was 19, thanks to my younger sister who taught me. She is a talented quilter with over 30 years of quilting under her belt. I have always admired her work and secretly wished I could quilt. Having recently retired, she took me shop-hopping last summer and I decided I would give it a try. Although we do not live close, the phone and email works. She is teaching me and I am catching on. I am on my 7th quilt which I am giving to one of my grand daughter's for her birthday this month. My goal is to make each of my 11 grandchildren a quilt for their birthday's this year. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks? Have lots yet to learn, but I am determined. Enjoy the forum. It really is helpful for a beginner.

Welcome mischris from North Carolina. I am a 72 year old grandmother and have been sewing on my little Featherweight since I was 18. Started quilting about three years ago and have loved every minute of it. Still have a lot to learn and this forum is the place to be. Hope you enjoy the quilting board as much as we do.
