Hello, and welcome from Missouri! I will have to make a trip over to that side of the state! I usually go down the middle when I travel to Little Rock!

    Hello from IL.

Here are afew simple car shapes to applique.

    http://www.freeapplique.com/carpatterns.html

If you don't want to do all the fancy cutting, Arkie Quilts at Ebay has several precut applique pieces. The have monster trucks and old fashioned cars for sure. I'm not sure what else.

I hope you find one you like.

    :!:
Thank you for the link! I found the perfect ones! Now, if I can just do the machine applique. I have needle turned applique by hand and I have done all kinds of piecing but this makes me nervous. You are going to laugh but that is why I joined this group. I figured someone could help me actually do this. :?

I use a product like wonder under to stick down the applique and then use a blanket stitch to sew it down. You can use a thread that blends the stitch or one that makes the thread stand out. Practice going around the rounded parts, they are easier to me than corners are.

Welcome from Missouri!! You will love machine applique and there are many different ways of doing it. I personally love the applique foot on my machine, and I use freezer paper, press the 1/4 under of fabric (freezer paper is the shape of item to applique-ironed on to the wrong side of fabric)...then use the 'blind hem' stitch w/a smaller stitch length to make mine...looks almost like hand done;)Or...if you want to do a solid satin type stitch around...then I iron on wonder under, tear off paper and apply in position...then satin stitch around or zig zag....show pics when done!!
