    I have seen some o0ne save the better part and make a stuffed animal or a baby doll quilt etc.

    Hi there from Western Australia. The majority vote seems to be to try and save as much as possible. If you don't want to do that yourself, I agree with the comment that maybe someone else would be glad to give a home to these quilts. I know someone who patched her old patchwork! Isn't that what patchwork quilts are for?
