New here and new to quilting! (from OR)
Hi everyone!
I'm a baby quilter who stumbled on this board while troubleshooting my new machine and it seems like a pretty cool place. I'm just getting started quilting, I just finished learning how to bind and finished my first project last weekend! But I've already got two others in progress, and I've got my eye on what my next is going to be.
A little bit else about me... I'm 31 years old and I live in Portland, OR with my husband and our three cats. I work as a medical lab technician, but I'm currently preparing to return to school for.. I don't know what!
Here's a picture of my first quilt.. it's just a little mini wall hanging. I made it for my co-worker, we started saying "it is what it is" to mock people who annoyingly say it all the time (when you're upset about something and really want some sympathy!), but now we say it all the time to each other and crack ourselves up! I got the pattern from Christina Cameli's book "First steps to Free Motion Quilting" but modified the middle blocks to fit my saying. I also made one for myself following the pattern in the book. (I can't figure out how to rotate the photo so you'll have to tilt your head! )
Nice to meet all of you!

Welcome from the great state of Texas. I must say you have done exceptionally well for your first mini wall hanging quilt. Your free motion quilting is awesome. You will learn a lot from the great quilters on this board. Thanks for the picture...we love pictures.
