New from Mississauga, ON, Canada and have a question
#41
Hi Quilt E: If it was me you thought you recognized, sorry but you are mistaken as I did not take any classes at Triangle when I bought my machine. I have owned nothing but Bernina machines since I bought my first one in 1960 so am very comfortable with them - not that that will make me a perfect free-motion quilter, even with the BSR attachment!

The Brother Nouvelle S 1500 is the best quilting machine that I have. It is a straight stitch only machine with a 9" throat. You should look for a machine that has a wide throat and one that can have a single stitch plate as an accessory for when you are quilting, as well as walking foot capabilities- and also one where you can drop the feed dogs. Good hunting!

Thanks everyone! One of the board members who has the same machine as me was able to suggest a couple walking feet options that will work with my machine. I have one ordered and on the way. [happy dance]
This will allow me more time to select the right machine for me while still working on my sewing projects in the meantime (aka, a new mom's sanity saver).
