Hi everyone. I feel like I already know a lot of you as I've been lurking for a couple of months. ADDICTIVE!! That's putting it mildly! I have learned so much that I thought I should get on board!! I don't feel like I qualify as a real "quilter" as I have only tied my quilts and throws so far. I have a LOT to learn. I've made 3 quilts and 20+ throws since I started about 4 years ago. I got my start then by joining the quilters at church. There are 7 of us and we meet every Thursday morning. There are 2 of us that piece the tops at home and the rest is done at church. In 2008 I made 52 tops as I set a goal of 1 a week. We usually turn in about 100 a year to Lutheran World Relief. I'm glad to be here and really have enjoyed reading and seeing all of the beautiful quilts gals and guys have made.

Hello and welcome from California. What a great way to get started quilting! I just joined a guild last month... and am really enjoying being social while I'm crafting. It's been mostly a solitary activity until now.
