Hello from West Virginia

You will have to get some printable fabric that is sold at Joan Fabric. Copy a picture on to the fabric by using a printer. That is a start. Also you can get some books on the subject or you can type in what you are looking for on your computer and I'm sure you will be able to find some help there. I wish I could be more help but I have not done a quilt like that.

Welcome Carol;
It's wonderful for you to want to offer comfort in such a special way. You benefit three ways here, your fiancee and his son will treasure the memories and you'll grow from the comfort you will find in quilting. It's sustained me through many trials.
Feel free to contact me with any questions you have. I'll be happy to help.

Hi Gammy60,
Welcome to the board. I'm very sorry to hear about your fiance's daughter. I may be able to send you a little off-white fabric to get started with. Then, like someone else said, you can get the photo transfer paper at JoAnn's and print pictures on it.
Other things you will need to start quilting:
A rotary cutter and cutting mat, and a good acrylic ruler.
